Crash alert: 1 injured, power lines downed in dramatic, fiery crash in Manchester

MANCHESTER, NH – One person was hurt and multiple power lines were downed following a dramatic and fiery accident in Manchester yesterday morning, according to the Manchester Ink Link.

The crash occurred near the intersection of Rockland Avenue and Mast Road at about 6 a.m. when the driver of a minivan collided with a utility pole.

The driver, who has yet to be publicly identified, was able to crawl free of the burning wreckage. The victim was taken to the hospital with non-critical injuries.

No other people were inside the vehicle at the time of the crash.

The cleanup of the scene was made particularly difficult by the multiple live wires that had been downed in the crash. Firefighters were unable to use water to fight the car and utility pole fire, and instead had to wait to extinguish the blaze until Eversource Energy could remove the wires from the area.
