EAST KINGSTON, NH – A 15-year-old girl was killed, and two other people, including a 17-year-old driver, were injured in a snowy-weather collision in East Kingston on Friday morning.
According to the New Hampshire State Police, the accident happened on North Road near the Kensington town line at 11:37 a.m., when the 17-year-old operator of a 2010 Toyota Camry lost control of the vehicle.
The teen driver, a female resident of East Kingston, then went over the center line and into the lane of oncoming traffic. The driver of a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado, 22-year-old Kensington man Bryce Perreault, collided with the passenger side of the Toyota.
A 15-year-old girl who was a passenger in the Toyota was taken to the hospital in Portsmouth, and from there, to Boston Children’s Hospital. On Sunday, the victim succumbed to her injuries.
The teen driver was taken to the hospital in Exeter for the treatment of serious injuries that were not expected to be life-threatening.
Perreault was also taken to Exeter Hospital to be evaluated and was later released.
Authorities believe that the weather, which included a mixture of rain and snow that had accumulated on the roadway, may have played a role in the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
