Crash alert: 24-year-old suffers multiple injuries during Portsmouth truck crash

PORTSMOUTH, NH – A 24-year-old driver was hospitalized after colliding with a box truck in Portsmouth this morning, according to the New Hampshire State Police.

The accident occurred on the Route 1 Bypass on the Sarah Long Bridge at 5:50 a.m. The 24-year-old driver of a 2018 Toyota Corolla, Dakotah Cappelletty, went over the center line and collided with the back axle of a trailer being pulled by a Freightliner semi-truck.

Cappelletty was taken to the hospital in Portsmouth for the treatment of multiple non-life-threatening wounds.

The truck driver was not reported as injured.

Authorities closed the bridge for about an hour and a half as they investigated and cleared the crash.

The accident remains under investigation at this time.
