NEWTON, NH – A man was killed after he collided with a tree in Newton late Friday night, according to the New Hampshire Union Leader.
The accident happened on Peaslee Crossing Road at about 11:30 p.m., when 54-year-old Tony Soucier, operating a silver sedan, crashed into a tree.
Soucier, a Newton resident, was trapped within the wreckage for a time.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities believe that he may have been speeding at the time of the accident, though their investigation continues at this time.
The roadway was closed for about four hours as crews worked the crash.
