PORTSMOUTH, NH – A Connecticut man is facing DWI charges after a collision in Portsmouth early this morning, according to a press release by the Portsmouth Police Department.
The accident happened at 495 Ocean Road at about 12:10 a.m. when 26-year-old Rao Ashish, of Danbury, Conn., went off the side of the roadway and then collided with a mailbox.
Ashish drove across a front yard before colliding with a car that was parked in the driveway before coming to a stop.
No injuries were reported as a result of the accident.
Ashish was taken to the Rockingham County Jail on charges of DWI and aggravated DWI. He has since been released on personal recognizance, and will be returning to court in January.
