Crash alert: Father killed, another man injured after Rt 101 wrong-way crash

PETERBOROUGH, NH – A father was killed, and another man was severely injured during a crash on Route 101 that may have been caused in part by drowsy driving.

According to the New Hampshire State Police, the accident happened in Peterborough on Route 101 (also known as Wilton Road), near Field Road, at about 10:35 p.m. Saturday night.

21-year-old Milford man Brett Biron reportedly lost control of his Volkswagen Jetta, then crossed over the center line and into the lane of oncoming traffic.

The Jetta crashed into a Ford Escape, operated by 39-year-old Manchester man Ryan Kerick, whose daughter was also in the vehicle.

Kerick died as a result of the collision.

Biron was taken to the hospital for the treatment of severe injuries.

Kerick’s daughter was not reported as seriously hurt.

NHSP stated that fatigued driving was likely a factor in the accident, though an investigation still continues at this time.

Route 101 was closed for multiple hours as several agencies worked the crash.
