Crash alert: Man faces charges after driving wrong way on I-89

HOPKINTON, NH – A 26-year-old man who is suspected of having been under the influence is facing multiple charges after authorities discovered him driving the wrong way on I-89 in Hopkinton early yesterday, according to WMUR.

The accident happened near Exit 5 of I-89 at about 12:45 a.m., when Lebanon man Robert McCullen was spotted driving southbound in the northbound lanes of the interstate. Authorities deployed stop sticks, which caused two of his tires to deflate.

Despite this, McCullen continued to drive until he was stopped by state troopers.

McCullen is facing multiple charges, including driving under the influence, disobeying an officer of the peace, and felony reckless conduct.
