Crash alert: Man seriously hurt after head-on truck accident in Merrimack

MERRIMACK, NH – A man sustained serious wounds after he was trapped in the wreckage of a truck accident in Merrimack yesterday, according to the Merrimack Patch.

The accident occurred on Continental Boulevard, between Tinker and Naticook Roads, at about 5:30 p.m., when a Peterbilt semi-truck and a black SUV collided head-on.

A man was trapped inside the SUV for about 45 minutes while firefighters worked to extricate him. They used the jaws of life and other tools, and then managed to finally rescue him.

The victim was taken to the hospital for the treatment of serious injuries. He is expected to survive.

The truck driver was not reported as hurt.

The portion of the roadway between Tinker Rd and Naticook Rd was closed for the investigation, which continues at this time.
