COLEBROOK, NH – A man from Massachusetts was airlifted to the hospital in Vermont with serious injuries following a snowmobile accident in Colebrook yesterday.
According to the New Hampshire Union Leader, the accident occurred on the rail-trail in Colebrook at about 6 p.m., when 58-year-old Robert Gilchrist, of North Grafton, MA, reportedly failed to notice that he was approaching a bridge on the snowmobile trail.
He collided with a bump in the trail, causing him to lose control of the vehicle and the snowmobile to overturn.
Gilchrist was taken to Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital, and then was airlifted to the hospital in Burlington, VT, with severe, but not life-threatening, injuries.
