Crash alert: PanAm worker dead fatally pinned between rail cars in Newington

NEWINGTON, NH (ROCKINGHAM COUNTY) – A worker with Pan Am Railways was fatally pinned between two rail cars while working in Newington on Wednesday, according to the New Hampshire Union Leader.

The accident occurred before 2 p.m. at 100 Piscataqua Drive at SubCom, a company providing underwater fiber optic cable networks.

61-year-old Seabrook man Dale Jenkins was connecting two rail cars when he became pinned between them. He was able to radio an engineer for help before sustaining severe, life-threatening injuries.

Jenkins later succumbed to those injuries and died.

Multiple groups, including the National Transportation Safety Board, continue to investigate the accident.
