HANOVER, NH – A 44-year-old school bus driver from Canaan died Wednesday after suffering a medical emergency and crashing the vehicle into a guardrail.
According to AP News, 44-year-old Heather Billingham was transporting 12 students inside her bus when she experienced an unspecified medical emergency, crossed the centerline, and hit a guardrail. Billingham was transported to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, where she later died.
AP News reports that the students were transported to a different bus, which was itself involved in collision with a passenger vehicle. No one was injured in the second crash.
