NORTH HAMPTON, NH – The teenager responsible for a two-vehicle crash and five hospitalizations has been charged with aggravated DWI, the Portsmouth Herald reports.
The collision occurred on Ocean Boulevard in North Hampton at about 3:30 p.m. on Friday, June 12, when a Honda Civic driven by 19-year-old Alexandra Espinola crashed into a Toyota Highlander. Both Espinola and the 43-year-old driver of the Highlander had to be extracted from their vehicles, and were taken to Portsmouth Regional Hospital for treatment. Espinola’s three teenage passengers were also taken to the facility by ambulance.
An adult female and two juvenile passengers from the Highlander were treated at the scene.
Investigations confirmed that Espinola had been intoxicated at the time of the collision. Additional charges are expected to be filed soon.
