CONCORD, NH – A van crashed and rolled over on Interstate 89 South near Mile Marker 1 on Wednesday, July 1, seriously injuring the driver.
According to Patch, the accident occurred around 1:45 p.m. First responders from Concord and Bow responded to the scene and found the driver had suffered a puncture wound to the chest and was trapped inside the van.
The driver, a man in his 60s, was rescued from the van with major injuries, but was awake and alert, according to first responders. He was transported to Concord Hospital for treatment.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation, and it is not clear whether a second vehicle was involved.
New Hampshire State Police closed the highway while first responders attended to the scene, blocking traffic for about an hour.
