MANCHESTER, NH – A 25-year-old man struck two pedestrians in downtown Manchester last Thursday, seriously injuring one of them, according to My Champlain Valley.

Police took Gabriel Camilo Baptiste, 25, into custody after he hit a 52-year-old man and a 42-year-old woman, whose names have not been released. The man suffered serious injuries and is currently in an unknown condition.

Baptiste was charged with driving while being a habitual offender.

CONCORD, NH – A woman in her 60s died last Thursday after being hit by a car, pinned underneath it, and dragged for 50 feet near Main and Thoreau Streets.

The driver of a Toyota Corolla Matrix hit the woman at around 10:30 a.m. on August 13, while the pedestrian was using a crosswalk, according to WCVB 5. It took rescuers about 20 minutes to lift the Toyota with a jack and remove the woman from underneath it. Witnesses and authorities said the driver of the vehicle appeared to be in shock.

The accident is still being investigated by Concord authorities, and the driver has not been charged.
